Borgere i Billedernes VerdenAugust 2025
Illustration for Weekendavisen

“For et halvt århundrede siden forudså den amerikanske kritiker Susan Sontag, at vi en dag ville ende som borgere i billedernes verden.”

(“Half a century ago, the American critic Susan Sontag predicted that we would one day become citizens of the world of images.”)

I contributed a cyanotype photograph to accompany Dea Binozi’s essay Fotografiets herredømme (The Dominion of Photography) in the book section of Weekendavisen, in the week 33, 2025.

The essay revisits Susan Sontag’s seminal work On Photography (1977), recently republished by A Mock Book. Guided by art direction from Liv Lansner, I explored the cyanotype process to create an image that resonates with Sontag’s reflections on photography as both reality and interpretation.
